The Black Diamond Orchestra, New York’s newest and most innovative early jazz band is now available for concerts, weddings and corporate events both in and out of town.
The Black Diamond Orchestra celebrates the early music of Duke Ellington, Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong and many other great composers and musicians from the 1920’s, 1930’s and 1940’s. Black Diamond Orchestra’s inventively spirited renditions breathe new life into old-time favorites like Peg O’ My Heart, Muskrats Ramble and Pretty Lil. From Dixieland classic Jazz Me Blues, to Swing favorites Puttin’ On The Ritz and Savoy, to Tangos and Salsas, they’ll make your party swing!!!
The New York based10-piece Black Diamond Orchestra is under the musical direction of trumpeter Mark McGowan who has toured extensively with The Duke Ellington Orchestra, The Lionel Hampton Orchestra, Ellington Legacy Band, George Gee’s Make-Believe Ballroom Orchestra, The Cab Calloway and Harlem Renaissance Orchestras.
Each and every one of the musicians in this extraordinarily gifted ensemble are seasoned international professionals with equal or greater resumes to their credit, chosen especially for their uniquely individualistic improvisational abilities.

Tap Dance exhibitions were all the rage in the early part of the last century. To take your event to the next level we can arrange fully costumed, period “jazz age” dance numbers using just one or a dozen dancers, just like the floor shows at the famous Cotton Club.
Co-leader and artistic director Amy Wallin has over 30 years experience producing and choreographing dance and theatrical shows for stage and television and she has the know-how and contacts and to bring your entire event together, including lighting specialists, set decorators, photographers, floral arrangers, make-up and hair stylists and caterers.
